Commonly Asked Questions
Wireless Deer Fence FAQs
Answers to common questions about Wireless Deer Fence.
How many posts do I need?
One box includes 3 posts and covers approximately 1,200 sq ft. Space posts 30 feet apart around your perimeter. For heavy deer pressure, space posts 20–25 feet apart.
Does it work in winter?
The system works year-round. Once deer are conditioned to avoid your area, they typically continue to avoid it even when the posts aren't active.
What about deer that have never encountered it?
New deer will investigate and receive the conditioning stimulus, just like the original deer. The system continually trains any deer that enter your area.
Is it safe for pets and children?
Yes. The electric pulse is similar to a static shock — startling but harmless. Posts are designed so children and pets can't easily contact the attractant tube.
How long do the scent tubes last?
Each scent tube lasts approximately one full growing season (4–5 months). We recommend replacing them each spring for continued effectiveness.
Do I need any tools or wiring to install?
No tools, no wires, no digging. Push the posts into the ground by hand and attach the scent tubes. Most gardens are fully set up in under an hour.
